Accredited by American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), The Sleep Disorders Center at T.J. Samson Community Hospital offers a comprehensive range of services and treatments for sleep disorders, including:
  • Sleep apnea
  • Periodic limb movement disorder (restless legs syndrome)
  • Narcolepsy 
  • Snoring
Treatment is tailored to each patient’s needs. We evaluate individuals ages 6 and older. 

Common symptoms of sleep disorders include:
  • Snoring or irregular breathing
  • Breath-holding or stop-breathing episodes while asleep
  • Awakening with a gasp
  • Unrefreshing sleep despite sleeping at least six hours
  • Falling asleep at inappropriate times, drowsy driving, fighting sleepiness at work
  • Trouble concentrating
  • Personality changes
  • Memory loss
  • Uncomfortable leg sensations when trying to sleep
  • Leg-kicking during sleep

Most insurance plans cover evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. It is your responsibility, however, to know the coverage in your specific plan. Our office will help you with insurance verification and authorization. 

As an AASM-accredited facility, The Sleep Disorders Center at T.J. Samson Community Hospital has either met or exceeded AASM standards for at least five consecutive years in each of the following designated core areas: personnel; facilities and equipment; policies and procedures; data acquisition; patient care; and quality assurance.
