There will be a blood drive on Wednesday, March 25th from 1PM to 6PM in the community center of the T.J. Health Pavilion.  Blood drives nationwide are being cancelled at an alarming rate, which is decreasing the nation’s blood supply. As of last week, it is estimated that 150,000 units have been lost due to cancellations. Visitors are currently restricted. Exceptions will be made for those who are essential to patient needs, such as: parents of pediatric patients, a support person assisting in labor and delivery or outpatient services, or those who are visiting patients receiving end-of-life care.  Friends and family members who want to contact patients at T.J. Samson or T.J. Health Columbia will be encouraged to do so via phone, FaceTime, or other electronic means. Call 270.651.4444 to be connected to a patient’s room.  (March 17)

Local Central Hotline:
A new local central hotline will be staffed by triage nurses with T.J. Regional Health who can answer patient questions and provide them with advice on whether or not to seek treatment if they are experiencing symptoms. We recommend that patients call the hotline prior to seeking care in a doctor’s office, at Urgent Care, or at the Emergency Department. The hotline number is 270.651.4400, and it will be staffed Monday through Friday 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. and 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Extended hours may be added if needed.  (March 17)
