Telemedicine Clinic
Telemedicine is an interactive audio/video system that allows a patient to have access to advanced levels of specialty care without leaving Glasgow. Using innovative teleconferencing technology, allows an increase to medical access to the residents of South Central Kentucky. The patient can see and talk to the physician via the video conferencing unit which provides face- to- face interaction. Heart and lung sounds as well as various medical camera systems are used to gather patient information in the form of video and sound.
This information is transmitted in “real time” to the health care professionals at the other site. The Kentucky Telemedicine Network has a dedicated line that insures strict privacy and confidentiality to all patients. T.J.Samson and Jewish Hospital have established a working relationship to deliver this continuity of care for cardiac and thoracic patients in South Central Kentucky.
